Registration, abstract submission and poster/oral presentation
Registered participants have 2 options to attend the conference: online or physical mode. Prepare and submit your abstract (in WORD format) online (format and submission site: https://irafcd-sdg-2024.utar.edu.my/abstract-submission/) before 30 Apr 2024 15th May 2024. Each registration is only applicable for the submission of 1 abstract. The acceptance of the submitted abstract will be announced via email by 13 May 2024 18 May 2024.
For both online and physical participants, please submit the posters (A1 size, PDF) before 31 May 2024 by replying to the acceptance email. Printed posters are not needed.
The submitted poster will be compiled into a shared folder, which will be disseminated through a QR code during the conference.
For posters that are selected by the scientific committee, authors will be invited via email to give a 10-min presentation (including a 2-min Q&A session) of their research. Authors have the option to make the presentation using their poster or as a PowerPoint show.
Note. Authors whose paper is selected have the option to decline to be included.
[Optional] Full paper submission
All accepted papers in IRAFCD 2024 will be published in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science indexed by Thomson Reuters and SCOPUS.
Registered participants have an option to submit full papers for publication in IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES). The paper must be the extension of the poster and submitted abstract. Each registrant is eligible to submit only 1 paper as the principal author. Registrants can, however, co-author a second paper provided that paper is submitted under separate registration by the principal author of that paper (i.e., an author can author/co-author a maximum of 2 papers).
Both abstract and paper submissions can be done simultaneously (refer to the picture below). As a registered participant, you are allowed to submit a full paper anytime before the deadline for our consideration. However, it is essential to note that participation as a poster presenter is mandatory, given that IOP EES is a conference proceedings publication. Therefore, all published proceedings should be based on the works presented during the conference. Submitting your poster signifies that you have met the requirements for being a poster presenter, regardless of whether the poster is selected for oral presentation.

Before the submission, please review the following guidelines from IOP:
Copyright: https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/questions/iop-proceedings-licence/
Ethical policy: https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/ethical-policy-journals/
Manuscript preparation guideline: https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/author-guidelines-for-conference-proceedings/
Peer review policy: https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/questions/proceedings-peer-review-policy/
By submitting your manuscript to the conference organizer, it is deemed that you have read and agreed to all the terms and conditions listed in the guidelines above. For research involving animals or people, please include an ethical statement as per the IOP ethical policy (https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/ethical-policy-journals/#ethical-statements).
For the preparation of the manuscript, it is important to note that the content should not be overly long (maximum 15 pages using the IOP template in the “manuscript preparation guideline,” including the figures and tables but not the references). The title and abstract in the manuscript should be the same as the one submitted for the poster presentation. The recommended Turnitin similarity index, as advised by IOP, is 30% or lower (including references).
The scopes of papers that are acceptable by EES are as follows:
- Food science
- Nutritional science
- Agricultural science
- Environmental science
- Microbiology and biomedical science if they have applications in the environment, nutrition, agriculture, sustainability or public health (e.g., communicable diseases). Please include at least a paragraph in the manuscript to describe the potential applications in these areas.
The submission has to be done using the following platform: https://www.morressier.com/call-for-papers/65fc5077f842a6561e6d978e
The deadline of the submission is 20 May 2024 27 May 2024.
The paper will then be peer-reviewed by our scientific committee. Please take note that the reviewing process of a paper is expected to be more stringent than that of an abstract. Therefore, it is possible that the abstract is accepted but the paper is rejected. The decision by the scientific committee will be final.
Once the paper is accepted, the author will have to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of RM550 (for local participants) or USD150 (for international participants) within the stipulated time frame.
Accepted papers with payment received will be compiled and sent to IOP for production, and are expected to be published within 6 months after the conference. Kindly take note that the publisher reserves the right to reject the accepted papers if they do not meet the requirements set by IOP (refer to the links above). The APC, in this case, will not be refundable.
The title of the abstract
Yasin Ali1, Chong David2*
1 Faculty of Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kampar, Perak, Malaysia
2 Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Sungai Long, Selangor, Malaysia
*Corresponding author email address
The abstract should be unstructured with a maximum word count of 300 words. Font type: Times New Roman, font size: 12.
#Please note that abstract submission is contingent upon the completion of payment. Only those who have successfully made their payment will be granted access to upload their abstracts. We kindly ask all participants to ensure your payment process is finalized to facilitate a smooth abstract submission experience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
